Because I know how much you Stylers have enjoyed keeping up to date on the latest Catwalk themed collections – here’s a little taster from the Acne Spring, Summer 2013 Collection. Cast your eyes on minimal meets authentic print enthusiasm, with the softness and creativity of subtle pastel tones, to evoke a purified decadence to Spring and Summer wear.
With such a busy work schedule of late – It’s been a little tricky to make as many posts as I normally do – however, going through my millions of photo archives, I came across these pictures of my home city to share with you. Fashion = Culture = Art.
Hello Stylers – as promised here is a link to my Lebara Asian Music Awards Style Report for Asian Woman Magazine!
From the radiance of glitter gown floor magic, to the decadence of traditional Asian wear, the AMA’S presented a show stopping range of outfits, enough to leave one in absolute style envy!
Hope everyone is well and shaping up for this season’s most sought after wardrobe essentials! Winter days and evenings are upon us, but this should be every reason to gather those much loved winter woolies and wear them with pride! In the words of Wood Harris ‘If you can’t enjoy the Winter, then you don’t deserve the Summer.’ This should be bookmarked on our fashion do’s and don’t’s. Personally, I think the AW season is the perfect time to showcase a variation in style, print and texture!
In Sosostyle, here are three must haves for the season ahead!
1.The ESSENTIAL Faux Fur or ‘Fluff’ Coat. Continues to make it’s ‘wooly’ mark, AW after AW. The quintessential mix of comfort and finesse.
2.Those sexy Biker Studded Gloves. Indeed, come rain or shine these sassy looking hand wonders keep your fingers warm, whilst maintaining the excellence of sultry feminine – chic.
3.Booty, booty! Year after year we see an eclectic mix of footwear design displayed on our global fashion catwalks – this season brings a host of heels, fabrics and unusual shape defined design, to the forefront of this season’s accolade of trend footwear. From bold dual tone prints to the vibrancy of leopard and tiger motifs – the choice is simply endless.
The Lovable Snood. As much as I’m a fan of all things wooly and heavy knit enthused, the Snood has really caught my fashion loving eye. First emerging on the fashion scene last year, snoods take inspiration from when they were first derived during the 1950’s Vintage fashion era. Not only do they look fabulous, but are actually the warmest piece of apparel to hit our fashion stores, in a long time. Being an avid lover of fur – this has to be a firm favourite for the coming season.
Let’s whistle as we walk this AW Season, stylers!
Pioneering brand Chanel in leadership with the oh so fabulous Karl Lagerfeld, have presented a fantastic array of eye loving shape and print for their SS13 Swimwear Presentation. Most of you will have either heard or seen the magical highlight of the collection; the hula hoop inspired hand on bag. This design is indeed, of large proportions, though Chanel have been renowned for leaving fashion enthusiasts the world round in awe of their repertoire statement in design.
Having written a short feature for my adorable Fashion Magazine crew at CULT HUB MAGAZINE, I was shortly informed about how this design spectacular has been at the forefront of ‘copycat’ accusation. British Designer Ashoosh had apparently produced a bag with relative similarity to that of Lagerfeld’s. Although, in my mind all Art is a statement and design can only be represented in a similar light through inspiration, not direct emulation.
Discuss as we will, and with no sense of offense to Ashoosh, who by the way, is an excellent Designer in the British Fashion stakes, but Lagerfeld’s eye catching hula hoop bag was both inventory and beautiful – perfectly fitting for the ss13 season, to come.

So, it was my favourite time of the Fashion year to yet again photograph YOU! Yes you, the people who incorporate fashion in to being a lifestyle and empowerment of identity.
Taking to the sought after streets in and around Somerset House – I came across a few wonderful impressions of Street Style, from the casual to eccentric, vibrant to subtle. Street Style is again not only about what you wear, but how you wear it. Even Kate Nash decided to show us a taste of romantic street style motion, and finishing off – my own little accessory to share with you – my sparkling gift of Erickson Beamon, courtesy of the boy.
Mark Fast’s SS13 Show left his fan’s in absolute awe at London Fashion Week this September. With a delicious mix of vibrant colour and costume motif – Fast’s collection continues to be the hot topic of conversation amongst fashion lovers around the globe.
I was lucky enough to acquire a few backstage shots of the Models, prior to the extravagant catwalk show. Take a peak!
London Fashion Week S/S13 tickets were complimentary from Glacéau vitaminwater, the official soft drink supplier to London Fashion Week.
London Fashion Week was once again a beauteous array of colour, spontanaity and all things golden glory.
In fitting with this season’s love for colour brights – SS13 presents a magnificent selection of indelible hues and vibrance. Most, if not all of LFW SS13 designers, took their colour palate straight to the catwalk.
Christian Blanken, renowned for his minimalist meets authoritative approach to design, continued this London Fashion Week to embody his signature essence of Sportswear Aesthetic. Basing this collection within the context of the Russian Constructivist Movement – Showcasing a series of dynamic, colour brights whilst staying resolute to his desire for flattery to the female form.
With a distinguishable colour palate of coral and lemon yellows whilst acquainting a mix of black, white and lighter greys.
Making leather a poignant part of the collection, Blanken coalesces an array of suede, python and metallic, in accompaniment of signature, sharp tailoring.
Blanken left followers in awe of his take on the constructivist philosophy of futuristic, linear design – evoking a slightly more edgy range of apparel.
With the eye catching use of hard edges, angles and shapes, further enhanced by contrasting banding and piping – essential to the embodiment and message behind Blanken’s impassioned collection.
Hosting a range of 60’s enthused material in his collection, Blanken echoes the early work of Pierre Cardin and Andre Courreges – in accompaniment of signature shaped sunglasses, welcoming the richness and identity of this iconic era.
